“Johnny arrives, a Powerful Multiwave Tremolo Effect for iPad”

Holderness Media today launched Johnny, a highly versatile Multiwave Tremolo effect processor for iPad. Designed for use with the Audiobus app and USB audio interfaces, Johnny lets you easily create a wide range of tremolo effects with input sources such as guitar, bass, vocals, and synth. Sculpt your sound with effects ranging from classic tremolo and vintage harmonic tremolo, as well as pulsating rhythmic patterns with the unique multiwave tremolo effect.
Johnny also works as an Inter-app Audio effect inside hosts such as AudioShare, Auria, Cubasis and Apple’s own Garageband. Johnny supports Core MIDI as well as MIDI over Bluetooth for controlling the effect parameters with your favorite MIDI controllers.
“Johnny is great for dialing in almost any tremolo sound, from classic guitar amp style tremolo to pulsating, rhythmic multiwave modulation effects. The Harmonic Tremolo mode is a feature typically only found in vintage tube amps and boutique effect pedals, and has a warm phaser like tone. ” said developer Christopher Rice. “Although it is designed mainly for processing guitar and synths, the effect works great with just about any input source.”
The app is the latest creation from Christopher Rice, developer of iOS audio effect apps Crystalline, Echo Pad, and Caramel. All Holderness Media apps have been placed on sale for the launch.
With a clean and friendly interface, the app allows users to process the live audio output of another app connected via Audiobus or Inter-app Audio, as well as live instruments like guitar, microphone or keyboards using a compatible USB audio interface such as the Apogee Jam.
Johnny features two distinct modes: Perform and Tweak. The preset list is playable, allowing for interesting sonic experimentation on the fly. Johnny’s two modes create a nice balance that bridges the gap between ease of use and deep programmability.
Johnny is now available on the App Store for $4.99 USD.

Holderness Media today launched Crystalline, a highly playable shimmer effects processor for iPad. Designed for use with the Audiobus app and USB audio interfaces, Crystalline lets you easily create beautiful synth-like tones and textures from input sources such as guitar, piano or vocals. Create shimmer reverb and delay effects inspired by classic guitar pedals and rack processors from the 80’s, unique pitch shifted delays and more.
Crystalline also works as an Inter-app Audio effect inside hosts such as AudioShare, Auria, Cubasis and Apple’s own Garageband.

Holderness Media today launched Stereo Designer, an easy to use multi-purpose stereo shaper and Mid/Side processing effect for iPad. Designed for use with the Audiobus app, Stereo Designer lets you easily sculpt the stereo image of input sources such as vocals, guitar and synths. Create unique wide stereo images, stereoize a mono input, apply mid/side processing and more.
Stereo Designer also works as an Inter-app Audio effect inside hosts such as AudioShare, Auria, Cubasis and Apple’s own Garageband.
Stereo Designer is a powerful stereo shaping tool, allowing the user to isolate left and right channels, pan each channel independently, apply delay for doubling and widening effects, and quickly adjust the tone with high and low pass filters per channel. You can also invert channel polarity and adjust input and output gain per channel in both Stereo and Mid/Side modes.
“For my own productions I’m always experimenting with the stereo field of certain sounds and tracks in the mix,” said Stereo Designer developer Christopher Rice. “so the idea was born out of my own workflow initially. I quickly realized Stereo Designer could be a truly useful tool for others who produce music on iOS. In particular, it will integrate nicely in the workflow of the upcoming Audiobus 2 with multiple effects app chains and unlimited routing features.”

Holderness Media today launched Swoopster, a highly playable flanger, fuzz, and vibrato effect for iPad. Designed for use with the Audiobus app, Swoopster is great for processing synths, drum machines and hundreds of other Audiobus compatible apps such as Figure, Sound Prism Pro, Animoog, Loopy and more. Swoopster also works as an Inter-app Audio effect inside hosts such as AudioShare, Auria, Cubasis and Apple’s own Garageband.
Swoopster is capable of producing a wide variety of effects ranging from smooth, phasey swirls to fuzzed out, warped mayhem. “The inspiration for Swoopster’s effects comes from tape based flanging and phase effects, and the wide variety of stompboxes I’ve owned over the years,” said Swoopster developer Christopher Rice. “I strive to create apps that have a unique sonic footprint, with a truly playable interface that is both fun and powerful.”
